Great History
Sometimes "a story is worth a thousand pictures". Founded in 1992, Todd Reed and Robin Tackett started their business in a small 2-bedroom home in Cincinnati. Todd delivered pizza at night to help pay the bills. The name "Slice of Stainless" really does have significant meaning. As business grew over the next two years Slice expanded into Todd's mother's 2-car garage and used her laundry room as an office. From 1995 to 2000, Slice shared space in a 5,000 square foot converted supermarket as business continued to grow. In 2000, Slice of Stainless built a brand new 15,000 sq. ft. facility on 2 1/2 acres. By the end of 2007, plans were in the works to triple the size of our operation and in April 2008, ground was broken for an additional 24,000 sq. ft. warehouse expansion. Our expansion included a 15-ton overhead crane and a cut to length line.
Industry Pioneers
In the early 90's, our company identified an opportunity that existed in the metal marketplace. At that time, no one was offering small quantities of stainless steel sheared to exact specifications and shipped on demand without expensive minimum charges. We envisioned a unique niche and set out to build our company as "Small Quantity Specialists" offering rapid turnaround and affordable pricing. Hence, a new company was born- Slice of Stainless.
